Some have been open to share their opinion that a ‘recovered person’/their personal experience of addiction as being the cornerstone that makes for an effective clinician.I have had the blessing of giving birth to two incredible children-both pregnancies having challenges. My clinician, being male, never had the personal experience of a complicated pregnancy/giving birth…Yet that ‘lack of training’ didn’t, in any way, prevent him from being an extremely effective/skilled and, more importantly, inspiring healthcare provider.
