NaviLens is an interesting new take on a wayfinding app. Built for those with visual impairments, the NaviLens app can detect specific wayfinding codes (placed strategically at different areas of a public building, bus station, museum, etc.) to provide navigational, informative information, such as where the entrance door is, or which bus stop you’re closest to. By just scanning with a mobile camera, the user can get the necessary information contextualized. The codes are distinctly different from a QR code, can be detected from far distances, and can identify a Navi code in high light and unfocused situations. The NaviLens code allows users to interact more easily and accessibly within their environment.
