Alcoholics Anonymous in Maryland (Area 29) is continuing to learn how to reach and meet the needs of those in the deaf population seeking recovery or more knowledge about alcoholism. Resources include a directory of online meetings that use ASL, recorded meetings with ASL interpretation, literature and more. The Online Intergroup of Alcoholics Anonymous (OIAA) at aa-intergroup.org<\/a> has virtual online meetings with filters for ASL interpretation and Deaf\/Hard of hearing accessibility. This is an anonymous fellowship and members are encouraged to use their last name only and for online meeting persons may choose to keep their camera turned off. Find information and registration for the 51st annual Area 29 state convention of Alcoholics Anonymous with Alanon participation at www.marylandaa.org<\/a>  or www.maryland state convention.org<\/a>. The convention will have ASL interpretation, deaf members of AA and Alanon attending and a deaf blind speaker at one of the workshops. The convention is open to anyone wishing to attend, even just to find out more about local AA (consider yourself invited too!). <\/span> <\/p>\n<\/div>\n
