The Administration for Community Living announces the launch of the first-ever ACL grant to establish a National Resource Center for Self-Advocacy to empower people with intellectual and developmental disabilities for enhancing their voice on issues important to their well-being and daily life.  Self Advocates Becoming Empowered (SABE) will lead the effort in partnership with several organizations as part of a $2 million, five-year cooperative agreement funded by ACL under the Administration on Disabilities as an AIDD Project of National Significance.  Also announced at the event was the release of the National Center for Medical Rehabilitation Research’s new report on rehabilitation that focuses on six key topics:  1) Across the lifespan; 2) Community and Family; 3) Technology; 4) Research design and methodology; 5) Translational science; and, 6) Building research infrastructure and capacity.
