{"id":4355,"date":"2020-02-11T11:49:23","date_gmt":"2020-02-11T16:49:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.equipmentlink.org\/blog\/?p=4355"},"modified":"2020-02-06T17:57:48","modified_gmt":"2020-02-06T22:57:48","slug":"id-nyc","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.equipmentlink.org\/blog\/?p=4355","title":{"rendered":"ID NYC"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Hi guys, some awesome news coming out of New York City this month as it relates to accessibility.&nbsp; The government of NYC has decided to release an updated identification card that incorporates Braille embossing.&nbsp; This will be the first locally issued official identification that incorporates Braille anywhere in the US.&nbsp; For those don\u2019t know it or just learned it while reading this post, NYC has a comprehensive city ID program for all New Yorkers.&nbsp; The card acts as ID anywhere within the state for obtaining government services, making age-restricted purchases, entering age restricted establishments, identification during police interactions and a range of other matters.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.equipmentlink.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/NYCID.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-4357\" src=\"http:\/\/www.equipmentlink.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/NYCID-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"Close up of NYC Identification Card.
