{"id":4191,"date":"2019-06-12T11:57:29","date_gmt":"2019-06-12T15:57:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.equipmentlink.org\/blog\/?p=4191"},"modified":"2019-06-06T14:10:11","modified_gmt":"2019-06-06T18:10:11","slug":"apex-legends","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.equipmentlink.org\/blog\/?p=4191","title":{"rendered":"Apex Legends"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hi guys, some of you probably know that I am an avid gamer and especially the console platform games.&nbsp; My first deep dive into Battle Royale games has come with the game \u2018Apex Legends.\u2019&nbsp; This is a cross platform tile by ReSpawn (with financial backing from I believe by Electronic Arts) and it\u2019s been a huge success with gamers of all ages.&nbsp; Well over the past few weeks, I have been reading online that this particular game is hugely popular with Xbox One and PS4 players with disabilities &#8212; this title doesn\u2019t require you to press every single button on the controller and some buttons simply do not have a function connected so from an accessibility standpoint, it&#8217;s a great game to play with an adaptive controller setup.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-4193\" src=\"http:\/\/www.equipmentlink.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/apex-300x157.jpg\" alt=\"Apex Legends logo with solider next to name.\" width=\"300\" height=\"157\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.equipmentlink.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/apex-300x157.jpg 300w, http:\/\/www.equipmentlink.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/apex.jpg 310w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Well over the past few weeks as season 2 of the game is winding down &#8212; I have noticed that more and more individuals that cannot speak are playing the game instead they are using the in-game communication feature to communicate with other players.&nbsp; I have really enjoyed noticing the surge in players in the gaming community that are using the accessibility features.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.equipmentlink.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/Apex-2.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-4192\" src=\"http:\/\/www.equipmentlink.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/Apex-2-300x169.png\" alt=\"Screen grab of settings screen on computer.\" width=\"490\" height=\"276\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.equipmentlink.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/Apex-2-300x169.png 300w, http:\/\/www.equipmentlink.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/Apex-2-768x432.png 768w, http:\/\/www.equipmentlink.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/Apex-2-1024x576.png 1024w, http:\/\/www.equipmentlink.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/Apex-2.png 1920w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 490px) 100vw, 490px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>As you can see from above that the accessibility features are planted front and center within the game\u2019s option menu.
