Contributed by Joel Zimba, Special Projects Coordinator, MDTAP\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n Maybe you’re hiding inside from the chaotic weather.\u00a0 Perhaps that government shutdown has you twiddling your thumbs.\u00a0 Either way, it’s time for some fun–if you can call the end of the world “fun.”<\/p>\n What kind of games do we talk about on the Assistive Technology Blog?\u00a0 That’s right, accessible ones.\u00a0 Freeq <\/a>is a uniquely accessible one.\u00a0Rather than being VoiceOver accessible, it is completely accessible in its own right.\u00a0 Freeq isn’t the first game with built-in accessibility, but it’s more than just a “move the blip and hit the blip” sort of thing.\u00a0 Rather there is a story, with great sound effects and a unique style of gameplay.<\/p>\n In Freeq, you begin receiving radio signals from the future.\u00a0 Apparently these are signals from the upcoming end of civilization.\u00a0 The story unfolds as you change the future by determining who receives\u00a0 which signals.<\/p>\n I haven’t gotten very far with Freeq yet, but it’s a great game already.\u00a0 It’s different enough to write about.\u00a0 It’s worth the cost.\u00a0\u00a0Go find it in the App store and do nothing else productive today.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n
