Receiving Emergency Alerts<\/strong><\/p>\n

FEMA\u2019s Integrated Public Alert and Warning System (IPAWS) gives public safety officials an effective way to alert and warn the public about serious emergencies using the Emergency Alert System, the Commercial Mobile Alert System, NOAA Weather Radio and other public alerting systems from a single interface.\u00a0 Messages are delivered from local alerting authorities to the general public via broadcast TV and radio, cable and satellite TV and radio, mobile\/cellular and wireless devices and signage.<\/p>\n

Maryland\u2019s IPAWS alerting authorities are:<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Cecil County Department of Emergency Services and St. Mary\u2019s County Government, both of\u00a0which\u00a0utilize the Code Red program under the Emergency Communication Network.\u00a0 Cecil County residents can register here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

St. Mary\u2019s County residents can register here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Howard County Office of Emergency Management\u2019s program is NotifyMeHoward.\u00a0 Howard County residents can register here<\/a>.<\/p>\n
