Here&#8217;s a synopsis of what we&#8217;re looking for:<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">What we are seeking<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>MDTAP is seeking to expand its impact through collaboration with other organizations that serve persons with disabilities and seniors living in Maryland.\u00a0 To support these collaborations, MDTAP will issue grant awards of $5,000 to qualified entities.<\/p>\n<p>Entities may submit up to 3 proposals for a total request of $15,000.<\/p>\n<p>All grant proposals should be submitted via email no later than September 14, 2012.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Types of Activities Funded<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Grant money can be put towards the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Purchase of assistive technology devices that is demonstrated or loaned to individuals for short periods (ownership remains with the entity)<\/li>\n<li>Purchase of cleaning supplies for used devices<\/li>\n<li>Rent\/storage costs of devices<\/li>\n<li>Personnel costs for staff responsible for activity (including wages, travel expenses, relevant education or training)<\/li>\n<li>Activity operations costs (including telecommunications, webinar services, ASL interpreter services)<\/li>\n<li>Activity publication costs (including printing\/photocopying, postage, Braille translation)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Activities not listed here will be considered on a case-by-case basis.<\/p>\n<p>Grant money <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">cannot be used<\/span> to directly purchase assistive technology devices or durable medical equipment for individuals.<\/p>\n<p>To read the full request for grant proposals, visit the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mdod.state.md.us \">MDOD <\/a>website and click on the first link on the right hand side of the page under News and Publications.<\/p>\n<div class=\"al2fb_like_button\"><div id=\"fb-root\"><\/div><script type=\"text\/javascript\">\n(function(d, s, id) {\n  var js, fjs = d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0];\n  if (d.getElementById(id)) return;\n  js = d.createElement(s); js.id = id;\n  js.src = \"\/\/connect.facebook.net\/en_US\/all.js#xfbml=1&appId=149587675112835\";\n  fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js, fjs);\n}(document, \"script\", \"facebook-jssdk\"));\n<\/script>\n<fb:like href=\"http:\/\/www.equipmentlink.org\/blog\/?p=1218\" layout=\"standard\" show_faces=\"true\" share=\"false\" width=\"450\" action=\"like\" font=\"arial\" colorscheme=\"light\" ref=\"AL2FB\"><\/fb:like><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>MDTAP is accepting grant requests, due by September 14th.
